34 Weeks

How far along: 34 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Chandler Updates:  About the size of a pumpkin
Weight gain:
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: Flat/ out
Miss anything: Being able to sit for long periods of time (I desperately want to go to a baseball game), beer and deli sandwiches.  The weather is so nice and I really just want to sit on the back porch with Spence on our day off drinking a cold beverage, eating a sandwich and watch a baseball game on TV.  I'd also love to be able to work in our flower beds or even just be outside but dang it its hot and all I want to do is sit in the A/C, bless the girls that have to do this for the entire summer... I'm already over it.
Movement: Shes still pretty active even though she has to be running out of room.  She also presses on my bladder all day long so I'm constantly running to the bathroom.
Cravings: Cantaloupe, strawberries and grape tomatoes
Food Aversions: None
Symptoms: Just normal backache and trouble getting in and out of bed, like I said I've accepted the fact that these symptoms will last for the rest of the pregnancy.  I've also had to stop wearing my rings which I'm not to happy about.
Other Updates:  Her nursery is almost done and I can't wait to share pictures of it, I think we did pretty good if I say so myself.  We like a mirror above the changing table and the shelves on her wall. I also go back to the doctor tomorrow so I'm anxious to see what her progress is!

33 Weeks

Thursday, May 22, 2014

How far along: 33 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Chandler Updates:  No significant updates this week... she should start gaining roughly 1/2 lb from here on out.  She is basically fully developed so we now just need to start adding weight to her before her arrival.
Weight gain:
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: Flat/ out
Miss anything: Waking up in the middle of the night and being able to freely adjust myself to get comfortable again- I'm limited on movement options.  Also seen a sign for Happy Hour margaritas and that sounded sooooo good esp. now that the weather is warm and the days are longer.
Movement: Still feeling the wide rolls and flips... no sharp kicks this week; except the occasional kick to the bladder that makes me swear one day I will involuntarily pee myself.  She does however deform my otherwise perfect "basketball" every once in a while- head poking out on the left, knee to the bottom right- something along those lines.  Spencer gets a kick "looking" at her, he occasionally rubs what he says is her head or rump to try and make her move :) <-- she usually won't ha ha
Cravings:  Cantaloupe, chocolate frozen yogurt and hard shell tacos
Food Aversions: None
Symptoms: Same as last week [backache and trouble getting up/ rolling over in bed] plus a new one that has literally disabled me for several days :/ [I will spare the details on this one]
Other Updates:  Not a lot going on on our end, these will be the last few, quiet weeks/ weekends that we have before little miss gets here.  On Monday I took Spencer to have the pins removed from his hand, the doctor said everything has healed up nicely so now he just needs to take it easy for a week or so to let the pin hole heal up.

He has also started the restaurant remodel so hes had some long work days... hes convinced she will come in the next couple of weeks while they're busy with re-opening; I told him he better get used to it, she will never run on your schedule from here on out ;)

Kitchen Remodel

Friday, May 16, 2014

So I can't even begin to stress how over this kitchen we were.  Our house was built in the 50's and I swear everything was original.  We had bought new appliances at Lowe's about 6 months before the remodel because we thought that it might help us in deciding to hold off on spending the money but it only made it worse.  If you know Spencer and I, when we get something new EVERYTHING else has to be upgraded.... and it has to be done immediately.  We also knew that this wasn't a project that we wanted to take on ourselves so we set out to find a contractor.  That was probably the hardest part... who knew it would be so hard to convince someone to take your money to remodel your kitchen.  We probably interviewed 6-7 contractors before we found on that called us back with a quote... we had a few call us back with quotes and we laughed at the price they gave us.  We decided to do the demo ourselves and let them come in and put everything back together.  The only regret I have is doing this while pregnant- I didn't really help with anything other than picking stuff out and living off fast food while 6 months pregnant was not a good idea, I couldn't imagine doing it with kids :/  I washed dishes in the bathroom sink maybe twice and was so over that immediately.  My parents [who have done so much for us and the upgrade of our home; we're both so lucky to have them] came in and helped Spence rip out the cabinets, then they came back and helped him paint the kitchen before the contractors finished up.

Before
White counter tops and that floor... Spence hated that floor and told me about it almost every. single. day. since we moved in.  Some days I didn't mind the knotty pine and then some days [usually once I seen someone else's shiny, new kitchen] I was over looking at it.

After cabinets were taken out

Ta-da... absolutely in LOVE with our new kitchen!!  Everything is new except for the appliances and the light fixtures.

After it was taken out [never knew how much this blended in with the wall]

A little plain [lack of decoration] but we love this feature so much; I'll eventually hang something on either side I just don't know what yet.  We will get new barstools as well but we already had these so we stuck them there for the time being.  Spence is also convinced this will serve as a babysitter once Chandler gets here- he says he will leave her and Sadie in the living room and shut the 2 doors so they are confined and he can watch them while he's cooking in the kitchen [riiiight].

Both of the above shots were after everything was taken out

So they rebuilt us a bar area over here and we hung the TV in the corner.  We decided to mix it up a bit and do the split cabinets for more storage underneath on the counter instead of having them touch the countertop.

32 Weeks + A New Baby Cousin

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

How far along: 32 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Chandler Updates:  She is roughly 4 lbs this week
Weight gain: 14 lbs- I lost 2 lbs
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: Flat/ out
Miss anything: Haven't had any just knock me down, wish I could have that moments this week
Movement: Her jabs have become more blunt at this point and shes doing a lot of rolling; I've also notcied shes had the hiccups quite a bit in the past couple of weeks.
Cravings: Strawberries, cantaloupe and hard shell tacos from Taco Bell.
Food Aversions: None this week
Symptoms: Had a hard time getting comfortable this week... she didn't seem to want to "move" with me.  If I rolled to my left side she stayed on the right or vice versa.  I think shes preparing me for all of the sleepless nights already.  Getting into an upright position is also starting to become challenging at this point- Spence has to pull me up a lot of times.
Other Updates:  So we had our doctors appt on Monday and we had surprising news.  We had a positive fetal fibronectin test which means I have a higher risk of going into labor in the next two weeks compared to someone that has a negative result.  So I started steroid shots on Tuesday and Wednesday in order to get her lungs developed JUST IN CASE she does decide to come early.  The doctor said that she wouldn't stop labor at or after 34 weeks so we roughly have one more week before we could officially meet our baby girl.  I'm anxious and nervous at the same time- I would love to meet her now but I want her to stay in as long as she can so that she can be healthy.

We also welcomed a new baby into the family! Scott and Michael Ann had Everett Michael on Friday, May 9 and he is absolutely beautiful! We can't wait until we can officially meet him!!!

31 Weeks

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

How far along: 31 Weeks
Gender: Girl
Chandler Updates:  She is the size of a butternut squash and around 3.3 lbs.
Weight gain: 16 lbs
Stretch marks:  No
Belly button in or out: Flat/ out
Miss anything: I really wish I was able to have a McCallister's club sandwich and a giant Dr. Pepper.  I had several sips of Spence's Coke the other day and it was sooooo good.
Movement:  She has been throwing some serious kicks and jabs down low, some take my breath away- they also make me have to pee every hour
Cravings:  Strawberries, cantaloupe and Chicken Mango Habenero sandwiches from Dominos!
Food Aversions: None this week
Symptoms: Still having a hard time getting comfortable in bed [I'd say it will remain this way the rest of the pregnancy] and I also noticed I have a hard time getting out of my car :/  Otherwise I feel fine, getting anxious for D-Day!
Other Updates: It's so exciting to see packages at home now because all of her nursery stuff is slowly coming in... we get something new to open it seems every day.

We have another doctors appointment this coming Monday so I'm excited to find out where she's measuring and how she is doing :)
